Just 5 miles from the M6 motorway, this lesser known, quieter yet thriving area is where the Lake District meets the Yorkshire Dales. Rubys Cottage is Grade II listed and part of a former mill on the outskirts of the market town of Sedbergh. Although in Cumbria, Sedbergh is officially on the western fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, thereby giving easy access to both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales plus the added bonus of having the Howgills (the surrounding fells which Wainwright called the Sleeping Elephants) on the doorstep. Sedbergh was also officially designated Book Town of England in 2006.
