Welcome to Nidderdale

Nidderdale is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, bounded by the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and although not a part of the National Park, it is one of the Yorkshire Dales favourites.

A visit to the valley of the Nidd includes many contrasts, rough open moorland, strange gritstone outcrops and the town of Pateley Bridge with its craft centres, village pubs and tea rooms. September every year sees the Nidderdale Agricultural Show.

• Nidderdale Museum
  Nidderdale Museum shows how ordinary people lived, in imaginative and realistic settings. There are sections devoted to Agriculture, Industries, Religion, Transport and Costume. The corridors are lined with photographs of local interest.
• How Stean Gorge
  How Stean Gorge is a spectacular limestone gorge, lying hidden amid Nidderdale's lush green pastures.

• Brimham Rocks - National Trust Pages
  The 50 acres of Brimham Moor is home to some of the country's most outstanding rock formations some of which are over 300 million years old formed by erosion during the ice age.
• Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal
  Fountains Abbey with Studley Royal Water Garden, four miles west of Ripon in North Yorkshire, is of outstanding historic and aesthetic importance.
