Welcome to Malhamdale
The dramatic scenery around Malhamdale of Malham Cove, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar are probably the most remarkable tourist attractions in the Yorkshire Dales.
All of these limestone features within easy walking distance of the village of Malham, one of the most visited in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The natural limestone formation of Malham Cove, is made of a vast, bowed limestone crag at the head of a dale, its top displays an exceptional area of limestone pavement.
A fantastic gorge produced by the melt water from glaciers, Gordale Scar and its overhanging limestone cliffs of over 100 metres high are always worthy of a visit when in Malhamdale. The stream that flows from the base of the scar is the River Aire.
